I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
