Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to water supplies, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and implementing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes follow periods of air raids in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting energy systems.

He said energy workers and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
